51 TAMIU Students Named to National Who's Who Publication

A total of 51 students from Texas A&M International University were named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

The national publication rewards and recognizes individual academic excellence on a national level. Once selected, students become lifetime members.

TAMIU honorees were recently acknowledged during the University's Student Life Awards, an event recognizing student achievement on campus. This is the first year TAMIU students were named to Who's Who.

Students selected for the honor must be juniors, seniors or graduate students and maintain an overall grade point average of 2.8 or better.

Candidates are evaluated based on scholarship ability, participation and leadership in academic and extracurricular activities, citizenship and service to the University as well as potential for future achievements.

This year's honorees were Richard Aguilar, Héctor Arizpe, Esmeralda Bedia, Aaron A. Bundoc, Joseph Patrick Byrd, Edgardo Cárdenas, Patricia Cárdenas, Heriberto Castro, Ronnie Castro, Cynthia Marie Cisneros, Alejandro Costabella, George Thaddeus Díaz, Aida Durán, María Del Rosario González Escareño, Chanel Firova, Yvonne M Gallego, Nicolas Gallego, Janie García, Raquel García-Ríos, Cindy Gelacio, Jessica A. González, Mike Herrera, James, H. Hickey, Joseph Holland, and Ileana P. Juarez.
