Laredo Community College students interested in transferring to Texas A&M International University can learn about the process at a special Transfer Fair scheduled at the University's Outreach Office on the LCC campus Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, July 15, 16 and 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.

The University's Outreach Office is located in University Hall room 211. Maria R. Rosillo, director of admissions, said that the Transfer Fair offers an ideal opportunity for students to streamline their transfer.

"Our Transfer Fair offers LCC students an opportunity to be advised on their degree programs, receive testing information and helpful financial aid counseling. We especially want to encourage those students who are considering transferring for the Fall 2003 semester. Students with complete folders will be able to register. Students can also apply and pick up informative materials or meet with representatives from each of the three Colleges," Rosillo said.

She noted that LCC has traditionally been the source of many transfer students to the University and that both TAMIU and LCC work together for student transfer success.

"To further enhance our strong relationship, LCC and TAMIU signed an articulation agreement in 1999 that creates a seamless transition, benefiting students greatly. In addition, to insure that academic courses transfer between all Texas institutions of higher education, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has enacted the Common Core Curriculum," she explained.

College of Business advisors will be available on Tuesday, College of Arts and Sciences and Dr. F. M. Canseco School of Nursing on Wednesday and College of Education on Thursday.

Office hours for the Outreach Office are from Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and 12:30- 6 p.m.
