Texas A&M International University's College of Education and its Phi Delta Kappa (PDK) group will host a two-day Mini-Conference next week.

The Conference, titled "No Community Left Behind" will take place Monday and Tuesday, July 14-15 in the University's Western Hemispheric Trade Center from 2-6 p.m. daily.

The Conference focus will be on the changes, concerns, and recommendations that will need to be in place to effectively deal with the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLBA) passed by Congress.

Those attending the Conference will include local and area teachers, administrators, TAMIU undergraduate and graduate students, parents and community members and retired educators.

Among major topics scheduled for discussion are "Building Relationships that Make Schools Work," "Leadership and Accountability as a Cohesive Goal," and "Standards and Responsive Curriculum and Instruction."

Fees are $15 for students and $25 for others. Full Conference fee covers all Conference events on both nights including the evening banquet and refreshments during concurrent sessions.
