TAMIU Prof Pens New Educational Administration Book

Texas A&M International University associate professor of education Dr. Carolyn McCreight will soon be a familiar name for students of educational administration.

Dr. McCreight's book, Handbook for Practicum Students and Interns in Educational Administration, has just been published on Stylex Publishing Company, Inc. press of Mequon, WI.

The 10-chapter book includes chapters written by McCreight, dean of the College of Education Dr. Humberto González and former dean Dr. Rosa María Vida. In addition, the 160-page book includes a Web-based browser accessible serverside student and faculty software.

Chapters include reviews of field-based approaches to administrative training, preparing for conflict and crisis, best practices in educational leadership, administrator assessment and evaluation and the status of licensure, among others.

McCreight joined the University faculty in 1998. She holds her doctorate in Educational Administration from Baylor University. Her M.Ed. in Special Education was earned at Texas A&M University-Commerce and her B.S. in Vocational Education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
