TAMIU Plans New Year's Eve Basketball Bash

The Texas A&M International University's men's basketball team will ring in 2004 with a New Year's Eve Basketball Bash match-up against Utah Valley State. Tip-off between the Dustdevils and Wolverines is slated for 6 p.m.

Admission to the New Year's Eve game is reduced to $2 for adults and $1 for students. Everyone with a TAMIU ID will be admitted free.

All in attendance at the game will receive a coupon for a free Mariachi Express mariachi. Free programs will be provided for each youth admission for a team autograph session after the game.

TAMIU T-shirts will be thrown out before the game and with each 3-pointer hit by the Dustdevils.

At halftime, two lucky contestants will shoot-it-out for valuable prizes, including a four-ticket package from the Laredo Bucks. All fans will be eligible to win free food prizes from Mariachi Express, Coyote Creek and Wendy's Restaurants. Additionally, youths will be allowed on the court at halftime to shoot like the Dustdevils.

University offices will close for a State-authorized holiday observance Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 23.

University offices will reopen on Monday, Jan. 5 at 8 a.m.

Registration for the Spring Semester 2004 will be underway from Jan. 5 until General Registration on Friday, Jan. 16 in the Student Center from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Spring Semester classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Late registration will continue through 5 p.m., Jan. 26.
