TAMIU Sets Class on Ethics, Supervision April 20

Texas A&M International University's Office of Special programs will offer a special class on Ethics and Supervision on Tuesday, April 20 in Bob Bullock Hall 104 from 1:30-4:30 p.m.

Titled "Ethics and Supervision: Applications to Counseling and Psychotherapy Supervisory Relationships," the course will be lead by Dr. Bonnie Rudolph, TAMIU associate professor of psychology and director of the Masters in Counseling Psychology Program at TAMIU.

Course cost is $45 per person. Those completing the class will be provided with a certificate of completion and 3 Counseling Psychology Educational Units.

The class is intended to help participants become more aware of challenges to ethical supervision in both individual and group supervision contexts. The ethical guidelines of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, the American Psychological Association and the Association of State and Provincial Boards will be applied to specific supervision scenarios to assist participants in resolving ethical dilemmas.

Dr. Rudolph earned her Ph.D. from Illinois Institute of Technology, and her MA in Counseling Psychology from DePaul University. She directed her own private group practice, The Chicago Stress Center, for 25 years and has extensive experience in supervision, professional training and brief and group psychotherapy.

The author of Brief Collaborative Psychotherapy: A Practical Guide for Practitioners (1996), she joined the TAMIU faculty three years ago. She previously served on the faculty of the Illinois School of Professional Psychology of Argosy University in Chicago.
