Laredo Speaks/Habla Laredo Surveys Scheduled this Weekend

This weekend, Laredoans will have another opportunity to participate in an important quality of life community survey aimed at assessing Laredo's present and future.

"Laredo Speaks/ Habla Laredo: A Community Survey" is part of the city's 250th anniversary celebration and aims to provide a forum for Laredoans to share their perceptions of the Gateway City's quality of life and suggest what Laredo's future quality of life should include.

On Saturday, July 3, surveys will be conducted at four locations: Narvaez Beef Store, South Zapata Highway; McDonald's Restaurant at South Zapata Highway at Guadalupe; Danny's Restaurant on Malinche and Super S Foods on Clark.

On Sunday, July 4, 11 local Catholic churches will receive surveys for parishioners to complete and return on site.

The bilingual survey is being delivered by Texas A&M International University's Texas Center for Border Economics and Enterprise Development. The survey launched on Wednesday, June 23 with the inclusion of 48,000 surveys in that day's edition of The Laredo Morning Times.

Those surveys can be returned at any HEB Business Center located in each store through July 5.

Surveys are also being distributed to major city employers and local civic and social groups.

The survey is also available on-line at tamiu.edu and at web sites of The Laredo Morning Times, Laredo Development Foundation, Laredo Chamber of Commerce and Laredo Convention and Visitors Bureau. It is also being distributed to Laredo's largest employers.
