At "Dusty Camp: Survivors," new Texas A&M International University students will have the opportunity to preview the campus, ask questions and receive information that will make the start of the new school year easier.

On Tuesday, July 20 more than 220 new students will arrive on the TAMIU campus and participate in Dusty Camp from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student Center.

Lisa Flores, director of the Office of Student Activities, said the day would be an invaluable sneak-peak into University life.

"A wealth of information about TAMIU services and programs will be shared with new students. They will be able to interact with faculty, staff and student leaders as they learn about academic programs, student services and student clubs and organizations," said Flores.

Other orientations are scheduled in August, including the Graduate and Transfer Student Orientation on Thursday, August 19 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. in the Western Hemispheric Trade Center. A two-day new student orientation will be held beginning at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 23 and ending at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24.

New students who would like to attend any of the Orientations should contact the Office of Student Activities at 326.2280.

University office hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
