Texas A&M International University will host a Transfer Fair at Laredo Community College Tuesday, Nov, 16 through Thursday, Nov. 18.

The TAMIU Transfer Fair is an event held once each semester by TAMIU's Office of Admissions in conjunction with the University Outreach Office before regular registration opens.

Carol Lara, director of the Community College Teaching Scholars Program, said this event is important because it allows students who are ready to transfer the opportunity to apply to the University, get advised on degree programs, learn about financial aid, receive testing information, meet with faculty and program representatives, and register for Spring 2005 with completed folder.

"It is a one stop shop," said Lara.

She added that the Transfer Fair is significant because TAMIU representatives from each college are available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at LCC's Memorial Hall, room 211.

Advisors from the College of Business and Dr. F. M. Canseco School of Nursing will be available Tuesday, November 16.

Advisors from the College of Education will be available Wednesday, November 17.

Advisors from the College of Arts and Sciences will be available Thursday, November 18.

The University Outreach Office recruits students throughout the year.

"What this event does is it allows students who have visited or applied through the office the opportunity to register before regular registration begins," explained Lara.

Other offices present will include the financial aid office, registrars office, and faculty advisors.
