Students at Texas A&M International University have clearly signaled that they're not big fans of waiting in line. TAMIU's conversion to an on-line registration system this Spring semester is a big hit.

"Enrollment utilizing LASSO, our on-line registration program, has seen a 503% increase over this time last year," said University registrar Oscar Reyna. "This request for greater on-line access to information came from our students and they apparently like what we've done in response."

Reyna said just a few clicks on the University's web site gets students registered on-line.

"It's a simple four-step process that can provide a diverse array of services that our students will find incredibly beneficial," said University registrar Oscar Reyna.

He said additional services are grouped into Student Records, Personal Information, Registration and Schedule, Course Catalog and Available Course Sections and Financial Aid.

In addition to accessing on-line services through their own computers and University labs, dedicated computers are also available in the Registrar's Office lobby.

On-line late registration, with fees applied is underway through Friday, Jan. 14 at https://lasso.tamiu.edu/ahomepg.htm Registration in person is possible through Wednesday, January 26 in the Office of the Registrar. Classes began Monday, Jan. 10. For more information call 326.2250.

University offices are closed and classes suspended Monday, Jan. 17 in a state-authorized observance of Martin Luther King Day.
