'Voices In The Monte' Series Features Haddad April 14

Haddad will offer a "Talk on Craft" at 11 a.m. in Student Center 236, and a public reading of her work at 7:30 p.m. in Bullock Hall 103. The event is free of charge and open to the public.

      

Haddad's first collection of poetry, Somewhere Between Mexico and a River Called Home was published in 2004 by Pecan Grove Press. Her work has also appeared in a variety of literary journals including: The Texas Observer, Rio Grande Review, Sin Fronteras/Writers Without Borders, Dark Horses, and San Diego Writers' Monthly.

      

Her poetry has also been published in anthologies including: Stories From Where We Live (Milkweed Editions), Is This Forever or What? (Greenwillow Books), Arab American and Diaspora Literature (Interlink Publishing), and Direct My Pen Eastward: Arab-American Women's Voices on Writing (Greenwood/Praeger).

      

"Voices in the Monte" is intended to provide an opportunity for students and the public to visit with local, regional and national writers who share their personal vision of writing and finding their voice.

Writing Center hours are from 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday; 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Fridays; 2 - 6 p.m. Sunday. The Center is closed Saturdays.
