James Joseph Palacios, TAMIU senior accounting major, was selected by TAMIU's College of Business Administration, department of accounting, economics and finance, as TAMIU's outstanding student representative to the Accounting Excellence Award Program. The awards banquet and presentation was held in San Antonio earlier this month at the Oak Hills Country Club.

Other universities represented in the Accounting Excellence Award were Our Lady of the Lake University, St. Mary's University, Texas Lutheran University, the University of Texas at San Antonio and the University of the Incarnate Word.

The annual Award is made possible by TSCPA's Educational Foundation and was established in 1969. The award is given to one outstanding senior accounting student from each of the approximately 50 Texas universities that participate in the Foundation's program.

Joining Palacios at the Awards Banquet was Dr. Willie Cargill, TAMIU professor of Accountancy.
