Got a question about TAMIU admissions, enrollment, life on campus or financial aid?

Just AskTAMIU.

No really…just “AskTAMIU,” the new online interactive information system available on various student-focused sites on the University’s Home Page.

“AskTAMIU” is a new Web-based information response system that intelligently provides various responses to questions about TAMIU and interacts with the requestor to make sure the information provided is relevant…any time of the day or night. It can also provide contact points for more specific information by phone or e-mail.

The new offering launched this month on tamiu.edu. It anchors specific home pages for the Office of Financial Aid, Office of Admissions and Office of Housing and Residence Life.

“AskTAMIU” is part of an effort by the University’s Office of Student Recruitment to be able to address Web-based inquiries which are increasingly preferred by potential TAMIU students and current students.

“Over the past two years, we’ve seen an increased preference by students in being able to access information by Web or e-mail contact. Students are Web-savvy and are doing their fact-finding online before they make their final decisions about a University. By utilizing ‘AskTAMIU,’ we provide a forum that helps to make this dialogue possible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year- round,” said Minita Ramirez, associate vice president for Student Success.

“We pride ourselves on making all of our Web-based experiences for students relevant and think this new initiative will be mutually beneficial as it offers a comprehensive online database in these areas for students, potential students and our own University team that updates and keeps the data and responses accurate through daily reports,” Ramirez added.

The University developed “AskTAMIU” with IntelliResponse, created by Comtext Systems Inc. IntelliResponse has been deployed by schools throughout North America to enhance service, manage e-mail volumes and better understand the needs of students through the rich reporting tools it employs.

To access “AskTAMIU,” simply click on the “AskTAMIU” logo box located on home pages for the Office of Financial Aid, Office of Admissions, Office of Recruitment and School Relations  and the Office of Housing and Residence Life at:

Users type in their area of concern or interest and “AskTAMIU” presents a response in seconds. It then gauges if the response is accurate by giving the requester an opportunity to explore related areas, rephrase the question or move on to a personal information contact.

While current information on “AskTAMIU” is limited to the areas above, the University anticipates adding additional content areas in the future, making “AskTAMIU” even more relevant to users anytime, anywhere.
