Before tossing that old tuxedo into the trash bin or letting it collect more dust, give it a new life by donating it to the Texas A&M International University's Ballet Folklórico. The TAMIU Ballet Folklórico is currently accepting used tuxedos for their "Las Posadas"  performance in December.

"We need gently used classic tuxedos to be donated to the TAMIU Ballet Folklórico. Perhaps you, your husband or a friend has a tuxedo that no longer fits. We would love to have it," said Gabriela Mendoza-Garcia, Ballet Folklórico director and founder.

Tuxedos must be black, classic tuxedos, with or without tails, all sizes.

The tuxedos will be used in dances reflecting the "Porfiriato" time period in Mexican history. This period reflects the aristocratic dances of Mexico during the late 1800s and early 1900s, explained Mendoza-Garcia.

The dances will premiere at "Las Posadas" on Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. in the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.

For more information or to donate a tuxedo, please call Mendoza-Garcia at 725-1832 to schedule a pickup.
