Central American Free Trade Agreement Topic of TAMIU Lecture Wednesday, Jan. 18

The International Bank of Commerce 2006 Keynote Speaker Series continues Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Texas A&M International University in the Western Hemispheric Trade Center (WHTC), room 111. U.S. Congressman Dr. Henry Cuellar, will discuss the Central American free trade agreement.

This event is open to the public and free of charge.

Henry Cuellar is United States Congressman for the 28th District in Texas. He previously served as the Texas Secretary of State and was a 14-year member of the Texas Legislature. Congressman Cuellar is a current member of the House Budget Committee.

As Texas Secretary of State and State Representative, he championed education, healthcare, and the creation of a strong, diversified Texas economy.

The IBC 2006 Keynote Speaker Series presents practical and targeted lectures imparted by distinguished leaders, recognized experts and outstanding scholars in the trade and business arenas.

The Series brings to the University individuals of exceptional accomplishment and expertise to enhance the academic experience of TAMIU students, faculty and the community.

University office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The University will be closed and classes suspended on Monday, Jan. 16 in a State-authorized observance of Martin Luther King Day. Offices reopen and classes resume on Tuesday, Jan. 17.
