Grants Writing Workshop at TAMIU April 18 - 19

If you have little or no grant writing experience or have written grant proposals, but have no formal training, sign up to take a grants writing workshop sponsored by Texas A&M International University's College of Business Administration, Texas Center for Border Economics and Enterprise Development and the City of Laredo Non-profit Management and Volunteer Center.

"Writing to Win" is scheduled for 8 a.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, April 18 and 19 at the Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 103.

Registration fee is a non-refundable $90 per person. Continental breakfast and lunch are included.

Participants will learn to locate appropriate funding sources, understand proposal writing terms, facilitate proposal development activities, design a proposal to fit their agency's needs, define program objectives, prepare a proposal budget, and plan a program evaluation.

The workshop will be taught by Ron Ayer, a senior grants analyst with the Governor's Office of Budget, Planning and Policy State Grants Team. Ayer's areas of focus include homelessness, disabilities, housing, and health and human services. He also has more than 15 years of experience in funding, research and proposal writing. He holds a Master's in Social Work

Administration and Planning from the University of Texas at Austin.
