TAMIU Ballet Folklórico Seeking Happy Feet

Are your feet happiest when you're dancing?

If the answer is yes, join the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Ballet Folklórico. The dance group is recruiting members for its organization. Dance experience is not required.

Find out more by stopping by the TAMIU Student Center Rotunda on Thursday, July 13 at 12:15 p.m.to watch the group perform. An information table will also be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“To join, you must register for DANCE 1340 Folklórico 1, which meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 - 7:15 p.m. in the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts, room 108,” said Gabriela Mendoza-García, Folklórico director.

TAMIU Ballet Folklórico marks its 10-year anniversary in October of 2006. In 1996 Mendoza-García and six University students decided to form a group to preserve and promote ballet folklórico. Today, the TAMIU Ballet Folklórico has the distinction of being the first campus performing group.

Summer Session II Classes begin Monday, July 10, 2006.

Fall Classes begin Monday, August 28.
