International Chamber Music Festival at TAMIU Sept. 1

Enjoy an evening of chamber music at Texas A&M International University with the International Chamber Music Festival on Friday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.

This event is free an open to the public.

The Music Festival includes performances by the University's College of Arts and Sciences' department of fine and performing arts faculty and guests.

TAMIU faculty performing include: on flute Dr. Susan Berdahl, associate professor of music; on guitar, Dr. Gilberto D. Soto, associate professor of music education and on violin; Dr. Yu-Mei Huang, assistant professor of music on piano and violin; and Dr. Xiaohu Zhou, TAMIU adjunct professor of music and full-time teacher at St. Augustine High School, on bassoon.

Guests musicians include: Glenn Basham, associate professor at the University of Miami and first violinist with the Bergonzi String Quartert and concertmaster of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra; Dr. Luis Casual, professor of strings at Laredo Community College; and Wan-Shu Huang, currently in her third year of a doctorate of piano performance at the University of Miami.
