Find out how you can get what you want out of life at Texas A&M International University's Open House, Thursday, August 10 from 5:30 - 8 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.

Current and prospective students, parents, family and friends will have the opportunity to meet with TAMIU representatives to learn more about TAMIU.

This event is free and open to the public.

"TAMIU will again open its doors opens to the community and invite them to visit with TAMIU representatives and faculty, learn about the admissions and financial aid process, complete admissions and financial aid forms, and learn more about living on campus during our annual Open House," explained Michele Lockhart, associate director for the Office of Recruitment and School Relations.

"This is also a great time for students and prospective students to meet with faculty from the College of Business Administration, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education and the Dr. F.M. Canseco School of Nursing. They can also learn more about student activities and what extracurricular activities they may want to join," Lockhart added.

Although no paperwork is required, students may take paperwork such as Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) printouts and parents' income tax returns to review with financial aid advisors. Students can also drop off any pending paperwork, such as official or final high school transcripts or test scores. If students plan to live on campus, they can drop off their housing contract and deposit to secure a room.

As the income gap between those with a college degree and those without increases, this is a good opportunity ask questions and find out how to enroll at TAMIU.

In 2004, The Census Bureau calculated that the average college graduate (Bachelor's degree) earns $27,800 more per year, adjusted for inflation, than the average high school graduate.
