Financial Aid Workshop Set at TAMIU Tuesday, Oct. 3

A chance for parents and students to meet with admissions and financial aid staff will be the focus of the Second Annual Financial Aid Workshop scheduled Tuesday, Oct. 3  from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Texas A&M International University’s Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 116.

This is the second such event organized by Congressman Henry Cuellar and features representatives from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and the Texas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. (TASFAA).

Minita Ramirez, TAMIU associate vice president for Student Success, said the event is a timely opportunity for parents to begin to plan for their children’s journey to higher education.

“This is really a prime opportunity to speak and meet with those who can help parents to explore available financial aid opportunities available to help them to fund their university education.

“The amount of assistance for our Laredo students is quite impressive and we’ve gathered all of our resources to help parents make sure their children can begin their higher education journey on time and with assistance in hand,” Ramirez said.
