Music lovers and enthusiasts should make plans to attend the first ever Band Extravaganza Concert hosted by Texas A&M International University’s College of Arts and Sciences’ department of fine and performing arts on Friday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) Recital Hall.

Admission is free.

The concert will feature three key ensembles within the department of fine and performing arts band division: the Jazz Ensemble, the Mariachi Ensemble and the newly formed Dustdevil Marching Band.

“The show will open with selections from the Jazz Ensemble and Mariachi Ensemble followed by a totally wild and crazy set of selections by the rowdiest band in South Texas, the Fighting Dustdevil Marching Band,” Dr. Michael Stone, director of bands said.

“All the ensembles have been practicing and performing throughout the region this semester, and this is the show where one can see it all!,” explained Dr. Stone.
