TAMIU Sets Supply Chain Management and Operations Course Nov. 10-11

Registration is currently underway for “Improving Your Supply Chain Management and Operations with Simulations Tools,” a non-credit certificate course at Texas A&M International University. The class is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 10 and Saturday, Nov. 11.

The course will provide approximately 10 contact hours, split over both days. Class will meet Friday from 7 - 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4 p.m. Registration deadline is Wednesday, Nov. 8. Seating is limited.

Course fee is $199.

The non-credit certificate course will provide hands-on experience with proven techniques and tools for understanding the critical concepts of supply chain management and operations, identifying critical aspects of solving real-world problems and designing appropriate models and solution approaches for daily business and supply chain projects.

Managers and decision makers in manufacturing and logistics businesses and those interested in manufacturing and logistics businesses are encouraged to sign up for the class.

Topics covered include: overview of supply chain management and operations and modeling and simulations exercises for demand forecasting, capacity management, inventory management and scheduling, and the facility decision-making production process.

The class will be taught by Dr. Haibo Wang, assistant professor of decision science at TAMIU’s College of Business, division of international business and technology studies. He holds a B.S. in biochemical engineering, a M.S. in chemistry, a M.E. in computer and information science and a Ph.D. in production operations management.
