ESL and Foreign Language Classes Offered at TAMIU

Registration is currently underway at Texas A&M International University for foreign language classes and intensive English courses offered by the University’s International Language Institute (ILI). Classes begin Jan. 16, 2007.

Admission to TAMIU is not required.

Foreign language classes offered include: Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.

All foreign language classes are for beginning and intermediate students. Classes are taught by native speakers and are designed to bring language and culture into the classroom.

The courses focus on conversational and communication skills and cultural awareness and give students an introduction to the language to assist them understand and speak the language. Courses are taught in the communicative approach and students will use the language starting from the first day.

Tuition is $388.

Students interested in English as a second language may sign up for the full level course and take listening, speaking, grammar, reading and writing or break the course into two levels and take listening, speaking and grammar and then reading and writing.

Tuition for the full course is $1,098 and $568 for each half course.
