TAMIU Fall Commencement Exercises Saturday

Texas A&M International University's Fall Commencement Exercises will be held outdoors Saturday at 2 p.m. on the interior campus green in front of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library.

State Senator Stephen E. Ogden will provide the Commencement address. 540 students are candidates for undergraduate or graduate degrees, comprising the largest December graduating class in the University's history.  This graduation will also see the first awarding of the Master of Science in Nursing.

Sen. Ogden, R-Bryan, has been in the Texas Senate since January 1997 and chairs the Senate Finance Committee. Prior to serving in the Senate, he served three terms in the Texas House of Representatives.

In order to better accommodate increased traffic entering and exiting the University, additional University police will be on hand to direct traffic.

At the close of graduation, the University's four lane entrance will be converted to exit-only to help expedite exit.

University office hours are from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday.

The University will close for the holidays at noon on Friday, Dec. 22. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007.

Despite office closures, registration for the Spring Semester 2007 continues 24/7at UOnline, located at schedule.tamiu.edu

Spring 2007 classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 16.
