Spain Summer Travel Program Coming to TAMIU

Are you a graduate student looking for an interesting way to spend your summer? Why not spend a month in Spain?

This travel opportunity is available for Texas A&M International University graduate students with a 3.0 GPA or higher.  This course is of special interest for graduate students in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, and Counseling Education. This trip consists of a graduate psychology course in Malaga, Spain, including excursions to Madrid, Toledo, Cordoba, Ronda, and Granada.

The trip agenda includes a city tour and guided tours of museums in Madrid, a day trip to Toledo via train, and arrival in Malaga.  Classes start on the second week and resume a regular class schedule. There will be day trips to Cordoba, Ronda, a free weekend in Malaga and an excursion to Granada. The trip will be lead by Dr. Christy Teranishi, TAMIU associate professor of Psychology. 

If interested in applying, students must visit tamiu.edu/dip/oie (short-term programs) and complete the required study abroad application and scholarship materials.

The program cost is $4,100 for 5-10 students or $3,185 for 11 or more students. Costs include room and broad, ground transportation, excursions, museum entry fees, guides, and health insurance. Program cost does not include tuition/fees, lunch or dinner during excursion, round-trip airfare, personal expenses (estimated at $1,000), and travel documents. 

Payment deadlines are March 1, 2007 for the amount of $1,600 and May 1, 2007 for $2,500 or $1,585 depending on overall enrollment.

Spring 2007 classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 16.
