TAMIU Sets Ethical Decision-Making Child Welfare Workshop Friday
Explore ethical issues and dilemmas faced by those who work in the child welfare system at a workshop offered by Texas A&M International University on Friday from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at La Posada Hotel downtown.
Workshop fee is $65 for professionals and $15 for students.
A certificate of completion, including continuing education units, will be issued to social work and licensed professional counseling attendees.
Presenter Donna M. Garrett, faculty associate at Our Lady of the Lake University's Worden School of Social Service in San Antonio, will discuss perspectives and personal values about the child welfare system. Garrett will also describe the core values of effective practice in child welfare and discuss ethical issues and dilemmas in actual Child Protective Services case situations.
Also speaking at the workshop is Candace Guillen from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Texas chapter. She will give a brief overview of NASW.
Lunch and a merienda will be provided.
