Employee, Employment Law at TAMIU Saturday
You can learn the legal duties of employers and legal rights of employees at "Employment Litigation," a non-credit certificate course offered at Texas A&M International University this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The class will meet in Anthony J. and Georgia A. Pellegrino Hall, room 101.

Employers in the professional, retail and service workforce and employees in all areas of employment are encouraged to participate in this course to learn more about their legal rights.
This course covers key employment issues that affect employers and employees and presents current legal issues that affect employers such as the consequences of civil liability if an employer does not have worker's compensation insurance and protection from getting sued by using Arbitration Agreements.
The course instructor will discuss and review issues and concepts and review and analyze current case law in laymen's terms.
Main topics covered include: Employment-at-Will Doctrine of Texas; employment discrimination based on age and gender; Americans with Disability Act; wrongful termination; intentional infliction of emotional distress; worker's compensation; borrowed servant doctrine; arbitration agreements and covenants not to compete.
Course instructor Molly Higgins Santos has more than 17 years experience practicing as an attorney. Her practice areas include civil litigation, personal injury law, employment law and administrative law in the area of Social Security disability appeals.
Higgins graduated from the University of Houston with a Juris Doctorate and from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a BA. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
