This Sunday at 4 p.m., the mesmerizing sounds of Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy, Ravel and Chopin will fill the Texas A&M International University Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) Recital Hall with the second installment of the 2007 Steinway Series.

This event is free and open to the public.

The University of Toledo's Professor Emerita, Dr. Frances Renzi, will perform for the second piano recital in the Series.

Renzi has appeared as soloist with many orchestras including those of Dallas, Houston, Toledo and the New Hampshire Music Festival. She has also given recitals in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, at the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series in Chicago, at the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., and throughout the U.S.

A native Texan, she received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas and Master’s degree from the Juilliard School.

She will also conduct a masterclass for selected TAMIU students Monday, March 26 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the CFPA Recital Hall.

The Steinway Series encompasses classical piano repertoire performed by TAMIU piano faculty and guests pianists from around the world. TAMIU is one of only two universities in Texas to be named an “All Steinway School.”
