Do you or a family member want to attend Texas A&M International University this Fall? If so, TAMIU invites you to its free Open House Tuesday, June 12 from 6-8 p.m. at the Student Center Ballroom.

Open House is a chance for students, parents, families and friends to visit TAMIU and meet University recruiters, faculty and staff members who will guide them through the University experience, said Minita Ramírez, associate vice president for Student Success.

Information on financial aid will also be readily available, including a Parents' Session at 7 p.m., where parents will receive details on how they can finance a University education.

“Financing is a major concern for families and in order to answer to many of their questions, we will have financial aid counselors who can guide parents and help students with online electronic filing,” Ramírez said.

Student housing, admissions and testing are other areas families will be able to explore, Ramírez said, adding that a campus tour is also scheduled.

“Just as one welcomes a guest to one's home, this one more way for TAMIU to open its arms to families and allow them to discover all aspects of our University campus, right here at home,” Ramírez said.

With TAMIU being the fastest growing University in Texas, this is an exciting time to enroll and seek a higher education at an institution that is affordable and close to home, Ramírez said.

“In Spring 2007, we saw a 6.6 percent increase in enrollment and a 5% increase in semester credit hours over Spring 2006,” Ramírez said, ‘In Fall 2006, we saw a 14% increase in enrollment over the previous year. All of these numbers are record-breaking and TAMIU continues to expand.”

At TAMIU, students also have the option to travel abroad while they earn their degree. On campus, a diversity of students represent more than 20 countries, Ramírez said.

“We invite all to come to our modern campus and see that at TAMIU, you can get what you want out of life,” Ramírez said.
