Make plans to spend your summer on a variety of adventures at the Texas A&M International University Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium. This summer it’s even more affordable with the LBV Planetarium’s new lower prices.

General admission is now $4 for adults and $3 for children, TAMIU students, staff and faculty. Premium shows, shown on Saturdays, are $1 more. On Saturdays, buy a ticket to a second different show and receive $2 off.

The LBV Planetarium has also added show times on Wednesdays and Thursdays in addition to the regular Saturday shows. The LBV Planetarium is closed on Fridays.

Shows will run at 4 and 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays and at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. on Saturdays.

The shows currently at the LBV Planetarium on rotation take audiences to black holes, hurricanes, tornadoes, inside a human body, and travel to ancient Egypt, an  enchanted sea and more.

Once a month, the LBV Planetarium also shows Spanish versions of “Microcosm,” “New Horizons” and “Wonders of the Universe.” The LBV Planetarium is currently holding a contest to find local talent to do the voiceover for the Spanish version of “Secret of the Cardboard Rocket.”

People interested in registering for the contest may sign up at the LBV Planetarium ticket booth on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3 -5 p.m. and Saturdays from 4 – 7 p.m. through July 18. Winners will be announced July 19.
