The three-week Freshmen Interest Group Writer’s Workbench Workshop Sessions for students who have been accepted to the Hispanic Student Success Initiative (HSSI) will continue through Friday, July 27, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Texas A&M International University.

This cohort of students already received their free laptops and supplies and began taking writing workshops earlier this month.

The HSSI prepares tomorrow’s teachers today by providing free laptops, educational writing software, summer writing workshops, field trips and learning communities.

This project is open to incoming freshmen at TAMIU or Laredo Community College and transfer students to TAMIU from LCC who have completed their core curriculum. It is made possible through funding provided by the U.S. Department of Education, Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program.
