Registration Underway for ESL Classes at TAMIU

Improve your English skills with an intensive or semi-intensive English as a Second Language class at Texas A&M International University. Classes start Aug. 20.

Registration is underway at the International Language Institute (ILI) in Anthony J. and Georgia A. Pellegrino Hall (PH), room 302.

University admission is not required, but all students entering the ESL program must take a placement test.

Students may choose from six levels of ESL in an intensive or semi-intensive format.

Intensive ESL classes are taught Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. for eight weeks. Students may also choose to attend from Aug. 20 – Oct. 12 or from Oct. 22 - Dec. 14.

The semi-intensive classes are scheduled to meet for 16 weeks, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 – 9:45 p.m.

The ILI offers ESL courses to meet students’ different needs and budgets.

ESL Conversational is $201.

ESL Pronunciation is also $201.

A half level course of ESL listening, speaking and grammar or reading and writing is $600.

The full level of ESL listening, speaking, grammar and reading and writing is $1,162.

Books are not included.
