TAMIU LBV Planetarium Announces Voice Over Winners

This Fall, visitors to the Texas A&M International University Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium will hear their fellow Laredoans when they watch the Spanish version of “The Secret of the Cardboard Rocket.”

Alejandro Folk, Joel H. Gutíerrez Jr., Dolores Preciado and Fernanda Preciado won the contest to perform voice-overs for the new Spanish feature, announced Laura Jimenez, TAMIU LBV Planetarium associate director.

Throughout June and early July, LBV Planetarium visitors registered for the chance to win the opportunity to show off their acting talents.

“We want to thank everyone who participated and to show our appreciation, all participants will receive complimentary tickets to the LBV Planetarium,” Jimenez added.

The LBV Planetarium regularly schedules Spanish versions of the shows—“New Horizons,” “Microcosm,” and “Wonders of the Universe.”

Shows currently run on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 4 and 5 p.m. and on Saturdays at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. Ticket prices range from $3 - $5.

The LBV Planetarium will be closed for maintenance starting Friday, Aug. 17 through Thursday, Sept. 6. It will resume its regular schedule on Friday, Sept. 7.
