Non-credit Web Programming Course Offered at TAMIU Aug. 11

Get on the 'net and introduce your business to worldwide promotion with "Web Programming for Non-Programmers" offered by Texas A&M International University Saturday, Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. in the Anthony J. and Georgia A. Pellegrino Hall (PH), room 219.

Course fee is $199 per participant.

Although participants are expected to have basic computer skills, knowledge in Web or HTML programming is not necessary.

This course is designed for managers, professionals and entrepreneurs interested in Web programming. Students in the business area are encouraged to take this course because it can help them understand basic Web programming.

Main topics covered in the course are: introduction to Web programming, Web forms and applications, Web matrix and visual formatting, creating user interfaces, connecting to databases, security, testing your application and sources and help using the Internet.

Students will also have the opportunity to create interactive Web pages from scratch, including database access and interaction.

The class will be taught by Jesus Carmona, TAMIU doctoral student in the MIS concentration of the Ph.D. program in International Business Administration. He is an adjunct professor at the University and has taught "Web Programming for Non-Programmers" before. He has more than 15 years experience in the computer field.
