Dr. Mohamed Ben-Ruwin, associate professor of politics and administration, joined Texas A&M International University in 1998. He received the 2007 TAMIU Scholar of the Year in recognition of his research in political leadership in modern societies.

At TAMIU's Freshmen Convocation, he shared "The Knowledge of Logic"-what he said he believes the United States needs to tap into to go from the state of powerfulness to the state of greatness.

Dr. Ben-Ruwin maintains that “The Knowledge of Logic” means making knowledge reasonable, affordable, accessible and useful to all human beings while understanding and utilizing the main principles of the knowledge of logic.

“I would argue that there are at least 10 main principles of the knowledge of logic,” Ben-Ruwin said.

Of the 10, Ben-Ruwin explained the four that he considers a priority: 1) knowledge increases when shared; 2) knowledge does not come to people; people must seek it; 3) serving knowledge is the noblest profession we can think of and 4) knowledge reduces conflict.
