Fall Dance Concert at TAMIU Friday, Nov. 16

It's time for the annual Texas A&M International University Fall Dance Concert, Friday, Nov. 16 at 8 p.m. in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.

General admission is $5; children 10 and younger receive free admission.

This event is sponsored in part by the City of Laredo, the County of Webb and the Laredo Women's City Club.

The Dance Concert will feature performances by the jazz and ballet classes, dance performance and classical Spanish ballet troupes and a guest performance by the TAMIU Ballet Folklórico, directed by Perla Díaz-García, adjunct instructor of dance/folklórico.

The performance will showcase the various dance styles taught at TAMIU and demonstrate student abilities. The program also includes six original student works presented as part of the requirements for the concert choreography class.

Other songs include choreography by Sandra Leal-Rentería, adjunct instructor of dance, Courtney Mulcahy, visiting assistant professor of dance, and Bede Leyendecker, department of fine and performing arts interim chair and assistant professor of dance.
