IBC Keynote Speaker Series Features 9/11 Commission Leader Feb. 6

The timely subject of traveling in an age of terrorism will take center stage at the next International Bank of Commerce 2008 Western Hemispheric Keynote Speaker Series at Texas A&M International University.

Policy analyst Susan Ginsburg will present “Securing Human Mobility: Freedom of Travel in an Age of Terrorism” Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 111.

This event is free and open to the public.

Ginsburg, a visiting senior policy analyst at the Migration Policy Institute, has provided consultation for the 9/11 Public Discourse Project, testified before Congress and has written strategic policy.

Prior to her work as an independent consultant and analyst, she served as senior counsel and team leader on the staff of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (9/11 Commission). Ginsburg was responsible for research and policy recommendation concerning the entry of the 9/11 hijackers, terrorist travel and border controls.

In addition to her work with the 9/11 Commission, Ginsburg has consulted nonprofit and academic institutions, providing strategic and operational planning relating to firearms policy. She has written several articles for Wilson Quarterly, a news magazine.

Ginsburg received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.

The next installment in the series features Jesse J. Tyson, president and sales director, ExxonMobil Inter-America Inc., on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
