Add E-Commerce to Your Web Site with TAMIU Course

Learn to design an e-commerce site using Microsoft's Active Server Pages technology with a non-credit course at Texas A&M International University Saturday, Jan. 26 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Registration is underway. Tuition is $199/participant and $149 for TAMIU employees, students and alumni.

This non-credit course is designed to introduce participants to ASP technology and teach them the basics of how to create a standard Web site. Students will create a sample Web site with database capability, enabling the use of electronic shopping carts and automated checkout.

Main topics covered include: designing an e-commerce site, using ASP on Microsoft Visual Studio, using ASP on Microsoft Frontpage, using a Microsoft Access database, collecting feedback, collecting usage statistics and maintaining the Web site.

This course is geared toward business professionals, entrepreneurs or anyone interested in using e-commerce for their business. A working knowledge of the Internet and computer use is required. Participating in this seminar will provide a working knowledge of Web design and the use of e-commerce tools.

The course, offered by the TAMIU College of Business Administration division of international business, will be taught by Hugo Luís García, fulltime MIS/DS instructor. García has designed and implemented both networking and customized application solutions for several businesses. He has a master's in information systems.
