People looking for a new job will want to make plans to attend the Texas A&M International University annual Career Expo, Thursday, March 6 from 9 a.m. 3 p.m.in the TAMIU Student Center (SC) Ballroom.

This event is free and open to the public.

“We expect more than 100 employers from the corporate, government and non-profit sectors to participate in this event and recruit for full-time, part-time and internship positions,” explained Andres Jaime, director, Office of Career Services employee relations.

“This is a great networking opportunity for students and employers to connect and get information about employment opportunities with the most recognized and active corporations and organizations in Laredo and surrounding areas,” Jaime added.

Jaime encourages job seekers to take professional-level resumes to the event and to dress in professional attire because employers will be taking applications and resumes and conducting interviews with the potential of hiring strong candidates on-site.

The Career Expo is one of the events taking place during TAMIU’s Business Week. Other events taking place include: Resume, Cover Letter and Interview Skills Workshop on Monday, March 3 from 12 – 1:30 p.m. in SC 210 and a student/employer mixer Wednesday, March 5 from 4 – 6:30 p.m. in Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 125.

All events are open to TAMIU students, alumni and the public.
