TAMIU Non-Profit Center Sets First Training Feb. 13

The Texas A&M International University Texas Center for Border Economic and Enterprise Development (TCBEED) Program for Non-Profit Excellence will hold its first training titled, “Strategic Planning: The Importance of a Mission,” on Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Western Hemispheric Trade Center 125.

Training fee is $50. Receive an additional 10 percent off if two or more people from the same organization register.

The event is scheduled from 9 – 11:30 a.m. A continental breakfast will be provided from 8:30 – 9 a.m. to all participants.

Dr. Andres Rivas, TAMIU assistant professor of economics, and Edward Sherwood, Falcon International Bank’s director for human resources, will lead the discussions.

Topics covered include: the importance of a mission, how to create your mission, know your vision, mission and values, how a strategic plan can help your organization succeed, how to build your strategic plan, develop your strategy, implement acquired strategies and more.

The Program for Non-Profit Excellence is a new program directed by the TAMIU TCBEED that targets providing professional development for the over 440 non-profit/tax exempt organization in the Webb County area.
