Local Author Featured in “Voices in the Monte” Series March 13

Local writer and Laredo Community College faculty member Keith Bowden, author of “Tecate Journals: Seventy Days on the Rio Grande,” will be presented in Texas A&M International University’s Writing Center’s “Voices in the Monte” Writers Series on Thursday, March 13, 2008.

Bowden will be featured in two events, a Talk on Craft and a Reading and Book Signing.

The Talk on Craft will be held in Western Hemispheric Trade Center (WHTC) 116 at 11 a.m. Bowden will discuss his writing process and autobiographical work.

The Reading and Book Signing will be in WHTC 116 at 7:00 p.m.

Bowden will recount stories from his novel and describe his adventures of biking, canoeing, and rafting along the Rio Grande. He will also explain some of his encounters with law enforcement, wildlife, and people along the river.

“Tecate Journals” has received high praise from Texas Monthly, The Dallas Morning News, Austin American-Statesman, San Antonio Express-News, San Diego Union-Tribune, Sacramento Bee, Kirkus Review, and numerous other smaller publications. Bowden has also been featured on Book TV by C-SPAN2.
