Early Childhood Education Summit at TAMIU June 4

An opportunity for educators to learn best practices in early childhood education and interact with other educators is set at “Nuestros Niños: Laredo Early Childhood Education Summit,” Wednesday, June 4 from 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Texas A&M International University’s Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 111.

Fee is $25 for lunch and materials. Limited scholarships are available. Space is limited to the first 150 professionals in the fields of early education, parent involvement and family support services.

The Summit is designed to bring together the full spectrum of agencies and professionals providing early childhood education services to children and families in Laredo.

Participants will have a chance to receive practical information, dialogue and participate in problem-solving exercises about early childhood education and family involvement issues, and develop a shared plan for extending and expanding early childhood education and parent involvement services in Laredo.

This event is sponsored by TAMIU; the Intercultural Development Research Association; Texas Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) Center, University of North Texas and the Laredo Area Community Foundation.

Also, Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition; Texas Migrant Council; Laredo Community College, Child Development Center; Webb County Head Start; AVANCE, Inc., Laredo Chapter; LCC Camilo Prada Child Development Center and the United Independent School District Even Start Program.
