Escape the summer heat and head to the farthest places of the universe, travel backwards and forwards in time, explore the human body or enjoy a full-color animation show set to Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side of the Moon” at the Texas A&M International University Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium.

“Starting June 11 we will have shows on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 4 and 5 p.m. We also have a special offer for our guests: anyone who buys one ticket will receive one free ticket of equal or lesser value,” announced Laura C. Jimenez, associate director, LBV Planetarium.

“We will be closed on Fridays, but we will be open on Saturdays with shows at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.,” said Jimenez.

She added that summer passes to the LBV Planetarium are also available for only $20. Benefits include unlimited LBV Planetarium visits, free admission to special summer events and discounts at the gift shop.

General admission is $5 for adults and $4 for children. Premium shows are $1 more. On Saturdays, buy a ticket for a second show and receive a $2 discount.

Upcoming attractions at the LBV Planetarium include LBV Planetarium Family Day with a live star show followed by stargazing on Saturday, June 14 and the Laredo premiere of “Seven Wonders” Saturday, June 21.
