TAMIU Offers THEA Workshops in June

If you’re a high school student in grades 10 – 12 or preparing to take the Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA), THEA summer workshops are being hosted at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU).

Tuition is $25 per workshop, $40 for two sessions and $55 for all three—math, reading and writing—subjects offered.

There are two opportunities to take the TAMIU workshops with two separate sessions scheduled in June. The first runs from Monday, June 9 – Thursday, June 12 and the second from Monday, June 16 – Thursday, June 19.

Registration is currently underway at TAMIU’s Dr. Billy F. Cowart Hall (BCH), rooms 203 and 205. Seating is limited.

The workshops are offered through the University’s Programs for Academic Support and Enrichment (PASE).

The math workshop, which includes fundamentals of math, algebra, geometry and problem solving, will meet Monday through Tuesday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Reading, which consists of inference, generalization and main idea, will meet Monday through Tuesday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Writing will focus on essay tips and grammar tricks. Classes will meet Wednesday through Thursday from 1 – 5 p.m.
