TAMIU-SBDC Starts Six-Month Certification Program July 23

The Small Business Management Certificate Program of Texas A&M International University’s Small Business Development Center (TAMIU-SBDC) will startWednesday, July 23, 2008.

The first course is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at TAMIU’s Pellegrino Hall, room 106. The topic is “The Art of Starting a Business: Basic Business Essentials.”

The Small Business Management Program was designed for the aspiring entrepreneur or for existing business owners. Its goal is to provide essential business tools. Program completion will enhance management skills and provide a good foundation for success.

Requirements for completing the program include:

• A one-time enrollment fee of $25
• Attending the required seven courses and completing two online courses within 6 months of starting the program
• Scheduling an advising appointment with an SBDC-Certified Business Advisor.

Upon completion of the program, a reception will be held in honor of the participants. Each will receive a Certificate of Completion recognizing their accomplishment.

The Small Business Management Program is valued at $150; those enrolling now pay only the enrollment fee.
