International Education Conference Set at TAMIU Friday, Saturday

The International Conference on Language, Life and Learning hosted by Texas A&M International University’s College of Education is scheduled Friday, Aug. 15 and Saturday, Aug. 16.

The Conference is designed with a focus on Pre Kinder through 12th grade education, while meeting various continuing education needs of teachers, administrators, district superintendents, and school board members.

The Conference opens Friday, Aug. 15 at 4:30 p.m. and will continue through 7:30 p.m. in WHTC.

Topics scheduled for exploration during the two-day Conference sessions include parental involvement, technology, bilingual/ESL, music, literacy and special services such as nursing.

The Conference will resume on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 7 a.m. and will conclude at 4:30 p.m.

“Language, Life and Learning” will include keynote speakers Tim Tingle on Friday, Aug. 15 at 6:30 and Consuelo Samarripa and Donna Ingham on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 8:15 a.m. and 1 p.m.

On-site registration is from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Western Hemispheric Trade Center (WHTC). On-site registration fee is $70 but does not include lunch.

All other teachers and students may register and pay at TAMIU’s College of Education, Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library room 432, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-5 p.m.
