The celebration starts at 4 p.m. and includes a Bono look-alike contest at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

General admission is $6 and $5 for children and TAMIU faculty, staff and alumni.

“For a couple of years, our guests have been telling us they wanted to see a U2 music show. Well, we listened and now we will be able to give U2 fans a new way of experiencing their music,” said Gerardo A. Peréz, director, TAMIU LBV Planetarium.

“U2 spans across several generations of music fans and moves people in so many different ways that we thought it would make a great experience for our visitors,” Peréz explained.

Audiences will see the 43-minute “U2: A Digital Dome Experience” in the TAMIU LBV Planetarium’s 40-foot immersion dome theater. The production offers rich computer renderings choreographed to the band’s music with real time elements performed during each show.

“Audiences will never experience the same show twice!” exclaimed Peréz.

Featured U2 songs include: “Where the Streets Have No Name,” “Sunday Bloody Sunday” (Live at Red Rocks), “Pride (In the Name of Love),” “I Will Follow,” “With or Without You,” “Bullet the Blue Sky,” “The Fly,” “It’s a Beautiful Day,” “Mysterious Ways,” “Elevation” and “Vertigo.”
