While serving, he provided non-destructive evaluation support to the Space Shuttle, International Space Station and Constellation Programs. In July 2006, Hodges was chosen to serve for six months as the executive intern for the director of engineering at JSC.

By January 2007, he was assigned to his current service at the NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC) as the lead for nondestructive evaluation on the Composite Crew Module project. The NESC is an agency-wide engineering excellence organization formed after the Columbia accident.

Hodges began his aerospace career with Lockheed Martin Space Operations at NASA Langley Research Center. At Langley, he served in positions with increasing responsibility that included group supervisor, participating in several major failure investigations, and assisted Orbiter wing reinforced carbon-carbon impact testing activities in support of the Shuttle Orbiter Return-to-Flight (RTF) program.

Hodges holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and mechanics from Old Dominion University.

This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at TAMIU and the IEEE Corpus Christi Section (IEEE-CC). The event is funded by IEEE-CC as well as a grant from the Texas Space Grant Consortium (TSGC).
