Public hearings regarding proposed increases in tuition and fees at Texas A&M International University for 2010 (fall 2009 – summer 2010) have been scheduled.

The hearings, held in accordance with Texas A&M University System policy, will be held Monday, Dec. 1 at 2:30 p.m. in Student Center (SC) room 203, Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. in SC 203 and Friday, Jan. 16 at 12:00 noon in the SC rotunda (ground floor). The hearings inform students of proposed changes to tuition and fees and reasons for such changes.

They are hosted by the Student Fee Advisory Committee which includes five students and four faculty and staff members. The Committee met on Tuesday, Nov. 25, to review the proposed changes and set the hearing dates. Fee increases are proposed in various areas including assessment, athletics, energy, library and technology access.

At the completion of the hearings, the proposed fees will be submitted to the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents for review at their March meeting in College Station, with final approval coming over the summer. If approved, the new fees will take effect fall 2009.
