The Texas A&M International University Small Business Development Center (TAMIU-SBDC) will sponsor a business plan workshop Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the TAMIU Student Center room 231.

Fee for the seminar is $20, and each participant will receive Linda Pinzon’s “Anatomy of a Business Plan: a Step-by-Step Guide to Building a Business and Securing your Company’s Future,” a $50 value.

Planning is the map to success in the business world. One needs to write a business plan when:

  • Starting or buying a business
  • Financing or refinancing a business
  • Raising debt or equity capital.

Richard Pérez, director for the TAMIU-SBDC, explains that a business plan helps one find hidden business flaws and makes one think carefully about each phase of a business.

“It is important that one write a business plan in order to gain in-depth knowledge about one’s business – thus making it easier to answer lenders’ questions. The process of writing one’s business plan will clarify what is involved in making a business work successfully,” Pérez said.

To register, call the TAMIU-SBDC office at 956.326.2827, e-mail sbdc@tamiu.edu or register online at sbdc.tamiu.edu
